Host Family Program

Our Host Family Program is designed to provide adults with developmental disabilities a safe, family-home setting to receive care, support, and supervision from non-family caregivers. Our dedicated Host Family providers are committed to building a positive relationship and providing a stable home environment for those in need.

Our program aims to promote a high quality of life for the people we support while fostering community involvement, inclusion, choice, independence, and preserving rights and responsibilities.

Interested in Becoming a Host Family Provider?

Do you have a place in your heart and a place in your home? Becoming a host family provider means much more than just offering a room in your house. You’re giving someone a place they can call home. A place where they are supported, valued, respected and have a real sense of belonging.

There are many adults in Ontario with developmental disabilities who are seeking a place to call home. Families, couples or individuals who welcome an adult with an intellectual disability into their home are rewarded with love, appreciation and a sense of giving back.

People and families who provide support come from diverse backgrounds with different life experiences. They are all committed to building a relationship and giving a stable home environment for a person with a developmental disability.

As a Host Family Provider, you will receive remuneration, respite, case management, and a 24 hour on-call support system. You can look forward to an enriching and fulfilling experience of your own.
