Giving to Community Living Greater Sudbury is simple. There are many options for you to choose from.

In Memoriam Donations

Many families request that relatives and friends make an In Memoriam donation when they lose a loved one. It’s a meaningful way to express sympathy to the bereaved family. Community Living Greater Sudbury will send the bereaved family a letter acknowledging your donation. A receipt for all donations above $20 is issued to the donor for income tax purposes. Our In Memoriam cards are available by calling Robert Nanka-Bruce at 705-671-7181 ext 213.

In a world where you can make travel arrangements online, and even buy groceries online, it’s simple now to do your charitable giving online. It’s easy, quick and secure. CanadaHelps.org is a public charitable foundation created to accept donations for over 80,000 charitable organizations throughout Canada.

In Person
Please visit our office at 450 Notre Dame, Sudbury to make a donation in person. We are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

HOST AN EVENT

As a charitable organization, we rely on the kindness and generosity of our community to help us fund some of our services.

If our cause is near and dear to you, feel free to contact us about how you can organize an event. We will offer our full support and any materials or resources to help you.

Here are some examples of events you might like to host:

A bake sale

We are always open to creating new partnerships! Event sponsorships provide an excellent opportunity for local businesses, corporations and individual people to show their support for a cause that speaks to them on a personal level.

HIRE A PERSON WITH A DISABILITY

At Community Living Greater Sudbury, we are committed to supporting people with intellectual disabilities in securing opportunities for paid work.

Why hire a person with a disability?

  • According to a DuPont study of employees, those who have a disability scored average, or above average in attendance ratings.

  • A Harris study found that 39 percent of workers who have a disability to be more reliable than other workers.

  • 97 percent of workers who have a disability rate as average to above average in terms of safety on the job.

  • As Employees: People who have disabilities are an untapped labour pool of dedicated and reliable individuals in your community. They work hard, perform well on the job and have excellent attendance ratings.

You can make a difference!

Since 1963, Community Living Greater Sudbury has been committed to supporting people who have an intellectual disability. Our Association was formed by caring families and volunteers and today –over 55 years later — we strive to have their voices present in how we shape our supports and services. We actively encourage and benefit from the input of family members, self advocates, volunteers, community organizations and businesses.

A membership will provide you with a voice in how we support people with developmental disabilities. Your membership provides you the opportunity to vote at our Annual General Meeting held each year in June. Help our membership grow and remember Community Living Greater Subdbury means inclusion, belonging and opportunities for all people!

VOLUNTEER

Why Volunteer?

According to a survey conducted by Stats Canada, 68% of volunteers said that volunteering helped them develop better communication skills. Volunteering provides you with opportunities to share your creativity and energy in an enjoyable and meaningful way. And you make new friends with similar interests along the way!

Many of the volunteer opportunities with Community Living Greater Sudbury will fulfill the 40-hours of community volunteer experience that is required in order to obtain an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
