Our Direction and Goals

Retiring Executive Director – Leighton T. Roslyn

I retire from my role as Executive Director as of March 11, 2019.  It has been a pleasure to serve in that capacity for the last five years. It is my hope that CLGS has profited from my efforts. Certainly resources have been increased and efficiencies have been found, but more importantly, I hope that a principled approach to problem solving and engaging each other with respect, even when, or especially when, we disagree are culturally more evident in what we do and that these principles remain at the heart of our engagement.

CLGS now welcomes Viviane Lapointe as the new Executive Director effective March 11, 2019.

Viviane has held senior leadership positions in the public sector for over 25 years. Most recently she held the position of Chief Corporate Communications and Community Engagement with Health Sciences North. Her experience in relationship management and strategy design make her the right person for the role at this time.

For over 25 years, Viviane has worked at a senior level in public sector organizations developing and executing strategies on matters relating to corporate communications, brand reputation, stakeholder engagement, issues management and relationship management.

As Chief Corporate Communications and Community Engagement at Health Sciences North, she was responsible for creating and executing communications strategies that helped the organization successfully deliver on its business priorities. As a member of the senior management team, she helped lead and manage strategic and complex initiatives across a $460 million multi-site corporation. She also helped lead the development of strategic plans for the organization that led to measurable business and individual performance goals.

As Manager of Strategic Communications at the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, she developed a sound understanding of the provincial government’s policy development and decision-making processes. She helped prepare Cabinet submissions and briefing material for Ministers and Deputy Ministers.

Viviane has led teams of professional staff where she used lean management principles to help teams effectively measure performance and adopt new improved practices.
