You can and will make a difference as a member of Community Living Greater Sudbury’s Board of Directors

 

CLGS is recruiting volunteer community members to serve on our Board of Directors. As a Board member, you will work with the Board and Standing Committees to help establish the guiding principles and policies for the organization, delegate responsibilities and authority to those responsible for enacting the principles and policies, monitor compliance with established guiding principles and policies and ensure staff and Board are held accountable for their performance.


We are looking for candidates who:
 Exhibit honesty, integrity, accountability, and commitment to the vision, mission and values of CLGS.
 Are willing and able to dedicate the time required to attend monthly Board meetings and serve on at least one subcommittee.
 Have the ability to provide leadership and share your experience while respecting the views of others.
 Have the ability to think critically and capacity for resolving challenging issues.
 Have a background in finance, legal, human resources, policy governance and development, or Strategic planning.

Every applicant must submit a letter of interest supported by 3 personal references. The Selection Committee will review all applications and select a short list for interviews. All applicants will be acknowledged.

The Board of Directors meets bi-monthly except for July and August.   The Board has three sub-committees: Finance/Facilities, Human Resources and Resources & Community.


The Annual General Meeting is held in June of each year. An Annual Report summarizing the year’s events or significant information is presented by the CLGS Executive Director and the Chairs of the Board Sub-committees. Elections are held at this time, the auditor’s report is presented, and this is followed by any other scheduled special presentations.  Stakeholders, community members, employees and any other interested person, are welcome to attend.
